Premature Ovarian Failure

Premature ovarian failure (POF) causes the ovaries to stop functioning before age 40, but parenthood is still possible with donor eggs.

Overview

What is Premature Ovarian Failure?

Premature Ovarian Failure (POF), also called Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), occurs when the ovaries stop functioning normally before age 40. Unlike natural menopause, POF can be intermittent — occasional ovulation and pregnancy are still possible, though fertility is significantly reduced.

Pathways to Parenthood

At Iswarya Fertility, we counsel women with POF on all available options including natural conception monitoring, fertility preservation, and IVF with donor eggs — achieving high success rates even when a woman's own eggs are unavailable.
