IVF Medication & Injection Checklist

A practical checklist for tracking your IVF stimulation injections, monitoring appointments, and medications throughout your cycle.

Before Each Injection

  • โœ… Correct medication
  • โœ… Correct dose (verify with your schedule)
  • โœ… Expiry date not passed
  • โœ… Medication stored correctly
  • โœ… Medication is clear โ€” do not use if cloudy

Injection Technique

  1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds
  2. Remove medication from fridge 15โ€“30 minutes early (room-temperature injection hurts less)
  3. Clean injection site with alcohol swab โ€” let dry 10 seconds
  4. Pinch a small fold of skin
  5. Insert needle at 90ยฐ angle
  6. Push plunger smoothly and steadily
  7. Dispose of needle immediately in sharps container

Normal After Injection

  • Mild redness, bruising, or slight stinging โ€” this is expected

  • Large area of swelling or severe pain
  • Signs of allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing)
  • Severe bloating or shortness of breath (possible OHSS)
